I was born in Sterling, Illinois in 1977. I currently reside in Seoul, South Korea.

I began writing my first trilogy of fantasy novels in 1999. Being a professional writer has been a long standing dream of mine and I got to the point in my life where I knew that it was time to seriously start persuing that dream or to let it go. So I bought a laptop and spent a great deal of time drinking tea at the local coffee house while writing.

I am a graduate of the University of Iowa, with a B.A. in Ancient Civilizations. I am currently employed as an English teacher at the elementary and middle school level.

In my spare time (such as it is) I enjoy reading, cooking, playing with my computer collection, and I study two Korean martial arts, Tae Kwon Do and Kum Do.
